This is an article that was published on Manchester United Supporter Club Malta’s quarterly magazine; The Echoes.
Now that the season has started and United have started of very well, we can can have a look at the many formations that we tried out during pre-season. If anything the first few matches taught us that Mourinho already knows his best team this year. Something that he didn’t have last year! In my opinion here’s how we’ll line up in games more often than not this year.
As Malta slowly starts to wake up for another weekday, prior to first few sun rays, every single day all around our villages are experiencing a sad scene. Young children all the way to young adults lining up on bus stops or pick up zones as early as 5.30am in order to try and get in time for school. 5.30am! If that’s not sad and inhumane then unfortunately I don’t know what is.
One of the best players of our generation and arguably the best player of all time, Lionel Messi, described how he managed to achieve his dream in a few simple words. He said “I always thought I wanted to play professionally, and I always knew that to do that I’d have to make a lot of sacrifices. I made sacrifices by leaving Argentina, leaving my family to start a new life. I changed my friends, my people. Everything. But everything I did, I did for football, to achieve my dream.”
Dear Mr. Cassar,
I’m addressing you in this letter because I was always taught to never discuss the individual but to discuss the message or topic and in this instance you’re the song writer, so this was your message.
When I’m writing to someone I tend to use a quote which I would have come across previously in my readings and I’m going to do the same in this instance.
