Ideas to improve the beautiful game locally

One of the best players of our generation and arguably the best player of all time, Lionel Messi, described how he managed to achieve his dream in a few simple words. He said “I always thought I wanted to play professionally, and I always knew that to do that I’d have to make a lot of sacrifices. I made sacrifices by leaving Argentina, leaving my family to start a new life. I changed my friends, my people. Everything. But everything I did, I did for football, to achieve my dream.”

An open letter to Mr. George Cassar

Dear Mr. Cassar,

I’m addressing you in this letter because I was always taught to never discuss the individual but to discuss the message or topic and in this instance you’re the song writer, so this was your message.

When I’m writing to someone I tend to use a quote which I would have come across previously in my readings and I’m going to do the same in this instance.

Ideas for a stronger Partit Nazzjonalista

In just over a month we will be electing a new PN leader, a leader which hopefully will steer the PN into demographics that we haven’t even sniffed for over 10 years. Today I’m not going to discuss individuals because that’s not who I am, however I’m going to discuss 3 different ideas. Three ideas that for the most part were passed on to me by different constituents that come from different demographics in our society.  Ideas that come straight from the heart and that I have already discussed with some of my close aides in order to strengthen the concept, however it would be great if we can continue exploring ways and means how we can strengthen these ideas more.

Robert Arrigo, the natural choice for deputy leader

Last week Robert Arrigo announced that he will be contesting the role of PN’s Deputy Leader for Party Affairs, a role which a lot of people believes is definitely suited for him. I’m lucky enough to come from the same districts in which Robert contested successfully in various elections for the last 23 years. First as Sliema mayor between 1994 and 2003 and than as a Member of Parliament ever since the 2003 election.
